Oologah Wedding

Oologah is a town in Rogers County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 883 at the 2000 census. In 1991 a devastating tornado destroyed the north side of Oologah, including the town's public school. Renowned humorist Will Rogers was born on a ranch two miles east of Oologah.

The name Oologah probably comes from the Cherokee word meaning "dark cloud."

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 883 people, 342 households, and 258 families residing in the town. The population density was 401.1/km (1,039.5/mi). There were 366 housing units at an average density of 166.3/km (430.9/mi). The racial makeup of the town was 71.12% White, 0.11% African American, 13.36% Native American, 0.11% from other races, and 15.29% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.02% of the population.
